Order quantities [TOP]
- Production capacity: 50,000 - 70,000 units in a turn-around period of 6 weeks; larger quantities in summer due to longer daylight hours
- Minimum quantity: 3000 units – negotiable
- Very small quantities: available through main buyers in many countries worldwide upon direction from Eswatini Swazi Kitchen

Ex-factory: from 4 to 6 weeks from date of receipt of the required pre-payment amount (see Payment terms) and depending on the size of the order placed.
Door-to-door transit times [TOP]
Depending on port or place of destination:
- Sea freight: between approximately 6 and 9 weeks
- Air freight: a couple of days or more
Delays [TOP]
When placing an order for goods that must arrive at a certain time, take into account possible delays due to:
- Congestion at the railway station at Matsapha in Swaziland (trains for Durban port leave on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays)
- Congestion at Durban port (up to 8 days delay, depending on season)
- Gale-force winds (between 2 to 4 days)
- Cancellation of calling on Durban port by vessel on which cargo was booked (alternative shipping line/vessel: up to 3 weeks delay)
Full container loads (FCL) [TOP]
- 1x 6m/20ft general purpose container at a time
- A customer can nominate the shipping line and vessel or leave these shipping arrangements to Eswatini Swazi Kitchen
- When a customer nominates the shipping line, it is important to ensure the company is represented in Swaziland to avoid/prevent transportation and communication problems
- Booking of cargo space can either be done by the customer or by Eswatini Swazi Kitchen
Less than a container load (groupage) [TOP]
A customer can nominate an agent in Durban or Eswatini Swazi Kitchen can make the groupage arrangements via its own reputable agent based in Durban
Airfreight [TOP]
Similarly to groupage, either the customer appoints an agent in Johannesburg or Eswatini Swazi Kitchen’s agent is used
Packing [TOP]
- Eswatini Swazi Kitchen uses Euro pallets (size: 1100 x 800 mm). The pallets are fumigated according to ISPM15 and a certificate can be provided
- 14 pallets with a height of 1700 mm or 28 pallets with a height of 980 mm fit in a 6m/20ft container
- Stacking-height of pallets can be adapted to a customer’s specific warehousing needs
- 6 jars (275 ml) are packed in a recyclable carton box measuring 200 x 130 x 120 mm
- Pallet stacking: 12 layers high/28 boxes per layer (336 boxes - 2016 jars per pallet) or 6 layers high (168 boxes – 1008 jars per pallet) – total of 28,224 jars
- Carton boxes are strapped onto a pallet and the whole unit is wrapped in plastic stretch film
Documentation [TOP]
- A customer must inform Eswatini Swazi Kitchen of precise documentary requirements
- Seafreight: shipping/commercial documents are forwarded by courier in time for import Customs clearance of the goods
- Airfreight: shipping/commercial documents are attached to the air waybill accompanying the goods on the relevant plane
PAYMENT TERMS [TOP]
Pre-payment
- 50% of FCA/FOB order value – electronic bank transfer via SWIFT or telegraphic transfer (TT), whichever is applicable
Post-payment
- The 50% balance is due upon receipt of the goods – electronic bank transfer by SWIFT or TT
